This new type of crime has led to the birth of new laws and regulations in the world aimed at reducing its scope. And the penalty is also increased if the report is committed by a spouse or even an ex or a person linked by any type of emotional relationship.Moreover, even just contributing to the dissemination of such content constitutes a serious crime.

The desire for revenge and revenge is not a healthy feeling. And there is no shortage of videos with minor protagonists, children unaware of being filmed, who become the object of attention of this uncontrollable herd that feels strong hiding behind the most powerful tool it has: anonymity. The groups are born and populate, they are filled with forbidden contents until they explode, until the data becomes so evident and manifest that the administrators of Telegram and the postal police manage to block the group and silence it: but usually it does not last long, time to create a new group and start over.
A few numbers to understand the problem
According to recent research by Amnesty International, at least one in five women in Italy has experienced harassment and online threats. Whoever puts your intimate photos on the web could be a stranger but also a friend you might never suspect. It is important never to underestimate that photos of women victims of revenge porn end up on the web not only for revenge but also as a bargaining chip in a market where a photo is worth the more it is intimate, stolen and real. This is why an Instagram photo is worth little compared to a content posted for example as a story with the aim of disappearing after 24 hours. Always think about it when you create content that concerns you intended for social channels or the web in general!
