NYPD creates an anti-animal abuse unit

'These crimes cannot be tolerated if we like to call ourselves a civilized society": these are the words of Richard Brown, Queens attorney in New York. For"crimes"means animal abuse, considered punishable by law also for the" FBI.
'Those who commit atrocities against animals are also led to commit them on human beings and we do not want innocent victims, in either case.", so stated the prosecutor on 11 January last.

As explained by Richard Brown in the same document, these criminal acts go "from neglect to abandonment, passing through physical injuries and even death. Not to mention the organized activities that include dog and cock fights where they are forced to fight until they lose their lives'.
