Laura Chiossone: "It's the women who choose today"

"Tell me about me": the story of a lifetime.

A wonderful Anna Foglietta. An intense dialogue that touches all the strings of the soul. A real direction that abandons all rhetoric and tells us the story of a protagonist who converses with the girl he was a few years before and with the woman who will be in the future. These are the ingredients of the short "Tell me about me", conceived by the "Armando Testa agency" as part of the Buoni Consiglio campaign of Banca Mediolanum and splendidly directed by Laura Chiossone, executive director who contributed to the inner development of the characters and therefore also to the very successful diversification of three different ages of Beatrice Tomaselli.
And just about women, about important choices and emotions, let's talk today with Laura Chiossone!

Our interview with Laura Chiossone.

What was it like working with 3 different generations of actresses?
Collaborating with female actresses from 3 different generations was beautiful and inspiring. It meant for me to work with 3 different worlds united by the same powerful generosity. The actresses give themselves to the scene, they show themselves as they really are and this regardless of the age written on their document. What you see happening in the short has a taste of truth, it happens here and now. Paola, who plays Beatrice at 23, she is young, fresh, full of enthusiasm. Anita, who takes on the clothes of the more mature Beatrice and comes from a technical school, exudes mastery and discipline. And then there is Anna, who opens the door and lets you enter her world. It is not easy to play the same character in 3 different ages. With a careful look you can see how in some moments, for example, Paola is able to perfectly capture Anna's gestures: it is like being in front of a mirror.

Who is Beatrice Tomaselli?
She is a woman of our time. It's me, it's you. Bea is like most women, she is able to observe the reality of things, without ever neglecting her emotional point of view.

Why are these 3 ages of a woman's life represented?
Because they are 3 key moments in everyone's life. The young Bea is at that age when you are taking your own path and you are full of doubts. Meeting the balanced and confident Bea some time later gives her comfort and confidence in her own possibilities. The character played by Anna has the age in which you begin to reap the fruits of the choices made. Anita's Bea, on the other hand, represents maturity, it is the moment of the balance, the one in which you come to terms with the woman you have become and with any debts to be paid on an existential and emotional level.

Why a female protagonist?
Because today it is women who choose. Women are in control of their own lives and also of financial decisions. The woman is like a "contemporary heroine and today she has a central role in the message of financial caution."

Listening to good advice is a very common saying, which we hear very often, what is the interpretation of this expression that you want to communicate in the short film? What declination was given to you?
In the end, the protagonist listens to herself. It is a metaphor. The meaning is: find within yourself the awareness that the choice you are making is right, that the direction is the one for you, the one on which you will build your future. In short, it is a message that is not at all rhetorical.

A true and current interpretation.

The idea behind the short "Tell me about me", made by the Armando Testa agency for Banca Mediolanum, tackles the theme of "good advice" in a realistic and concrete way. The executive direction of Laura Chiossone has helped to highlight the introspective aspects of the characters, differentiating the feelings and moods of each generation, with great attention to the psychology of the protagonists. Abandoning all rhetoric, the short "Tell me about me" talks about today's women to today's women, the ones they choose. And he reassures them: they too, like Beatrice Tomaselli, are on the right path and thanks to the right advice they will be able to have a peaceful and happy future, full of satisfactions.
