Method 1: tinfoil

This method is super easy and super tested, dedicated to those who are new to the removal of the semi-permanent but boasts a good dexterity. First, file off the shiny part of the nail polish, remember not to go beyond the surface layer. This will allow the remover to act faster and deeper. Now you will need the special solvent for semi-permanent nail polish: no, a normal acetone is not enough to remove color and gel! Soak a cotton pad with remover, rub vigorously on each nail and then leave it to act on the nail surface for at least 15 minutes. Try wrapping each nail with small rectangles of tinfoil - it's really quick and easy! These mini packs allow the solvent to act quickly and thoroughly, the only precaution to use is not to move too much and resist the temptation to pull them away too soon to see what is happening! After 15 minutes, also remove the foil from your fingers: you will notice that the nail polish and gel are very soft and easy to remove by pushing them away with the orange stick or the cuticle pusher.

See how easy it was? It will not be so easy to choose a new semi-permanent nail polish color ... you are really spoiled for choice!

Method 2: soaking

Instead of using tinfoil, after filing your nails by removing all the surface and shiny layer, you can soak your hands in a small bowl with hot water and remover. This method is also perfect for beginners but requires a little more time. Compared to the foil, here the times get a little longer: you may need to keep your nails soaked for about 20 minutes. It is essential to heat only the water and then add the solvent, because they are almost always highly flammable products! After this time, proceed to remove the softened color with the cuticle pusher or orange stick. Do not immerse your nails in water and acetone! You would only end up dehydrating your skin and nails (and you would never take off the gel polish).

Trim and file your nails giving them the shape you prefer and then apply an oil-based product to moisturize the cuticles and nourish the skin. Choose a special oil, you will find many on the market, pleasant and fragrant like those of your beautician!

It would always be better to let your nails rest for a few days between one application and another of semi-permanent nail polish. If you are not in a hurry, pamper your nails with a transparent base enriched with Vitamin E to fortify the nail and make it smoother and more shiny. You can also give your nails a few days of detox with daily packs of olive oil and lemon juice, or with a few drops of castor or sweet almond oil. If, on the other hand, you need to immediately re-apply the gel or a new semi-permanent nail polish color, massage a cream rich in moisturizers, such as shea butter and vitamin E, on your hands and nails in order to create an effective protective barrier and better prepare your fingers for the new application.
