Cristiana Capotondi: a fiction against prejudices on disability

Cristiana Capotondi is back on TV with a new fiction entitled "Everyone is perfect". The actress, struck by the nature of the project, immediately said she was enthusiastic about taking part in it. Acting alongside him, in fact, not only actors of the caliber of Edoardo Leo and Nicole Grimaudo, but a group of disabled children who have been able to demonstrate all their skills, in spite of prejudices.

A "stimulating experience that eliminates diversity

Cristiana plays the role of Miriam, a girl with a great pain in her shoulders, who runs an artisan chocolate shop. This is not a company like any other, but a professional reality that embraces inclusiveness and breaks down diversity, offering a job opportunity to young people with Down syndrome and mental disabilities. Together with them, Miriam sets out on a journey across Europe in order to reunite Rick and Tina, two Down boys in love with each other. The driving force that guides them all the way is love, the most natural feeling of all which, however, when it comes to disability, turns into taboo.

The show, branded Rai, aims to "normalize" the perception that one has of these people, too often distorted by erroneous preconceptions that, looking only at the disease and not at the person himself, tend to pity. Cristiana, in recounting her own experience on the set, speaks of "extraordinary and very stimulating human matter", referring to how much these guys were able to create a genuine and fun environment. A "television adventure that was a golden opportunity to give back to" the whole of Italy "an authentic image of a reality that is too often ignored, a victim of stereotypes and marginalization.

Cristiana, a committed actress

It is not the first time that we have seen the actress playing "difficult" and socially committed roles. It happened in 2017, when, in the fiction "I am there", she played the role of Lucia Annibali, the lawyer scarred with acid by the ex who did not accept the end of their troubled relationship. On many occasions, Cristiana has been the spokesperson for women's rights and has lent her face to campaigns against gender-based violence. His next venture? "You are beautiful", another Rai series in which she will play a police inspector who deals with femicides. A strong character that we are sure will be able to perform flawlessly.
