Prevention is better than cure: yes, but how?

All types of hair dye leave traces on the skin, even those purchased at a pharmacy or herbalist's shop. The dye is a chemical product and therefore must be removed from the skin as soon as possible to avoid irritation or unpleasant and annoying dermatitis. Therefore always use high quality and possibly organic dyes. To prevent dye stains on the skin you can also buy suitable creams such as the one used by your hairdresser. Prevention is the most important of all remedies. So, for example, you could try to spread Vaseline on the hairline, forehead and ears, which will then be removed with a damp make-up remover pad or "olive oil". The creams leave some perplexity, as on the root of the hair they can inflame the follicles and even create infections; therefore it would be preferable to limit their use and this also applies to face sunscreen. At home, at times, you do not take the same precautions as your hairdresser, who to avoid staining your skin and clothing carefully covers you with capes, waterproof sheets, also protecting your shoulders, hands and arms and sometimes even your face with a visor. Moreover, with the do-it-yourself dye it is easier to get stained, having to do everything by yourself, as not only in the application, but also during the shampooing, some splashes always arrive on the neck, cheeks or ear, while, if the the hairdresser extends and removes it with washing, this inconvenience occurs very rarely.

The natural recipes of your home and the stains vanish.

You can always or almost always find the homemade dye on the bathrobe, on the bathroom cabinets, on the shower mat and on the skin. It is now a classic after color. After washing each time you notice that you have more or less dark spots on the forehead, neck, fingers and cheekbones. If you notice it after a long time, when the stain has now completely dried or due to the heat of the hairdryer or the room temperature, it will be more difficult to remove it. First of all, it is always good to first resort to natural remedies, home remedies and not to industrial, chemical, harmful and polluting products, which often cause dermatitis and severe allergies. Chemicals are not always more effective than natural ones. So, first look for the solution within the walls of the house. There are many remedies to get rid of dye stains naturally, so as not to irritate the skin.
The light tint goes away more easily. More difficult is to eliminate the mahogany red, dark brown and black.
Never dare to scrub with sponges or even with detergents not suitable for delicate skin. You could start some terrible allergic reactions that are long to treat, especially on very sensitive skin. The right remedy is at hand, in the fridge of your home: cold milk. Soak a disk in milk and rub it gently on the stains to be removed. The stain will go away soon, leaving your skin perfectly hydrated. Milk is a very good remedy, even for black dye splashes, and does not cause cracking or irritation. Another very good method is to rub toothpaste, not gel, on the stain. Or you can try olive oil with lemon juice or a very oily organic face soap. You have solved your problem with food and natural products and without risk for your skin. Both should be lightly rubbed with a damp cloth and left on for a few minutes, especially if the stains are old and if the dye is dark. Let's not forget apple cider vinegar, which has a thousand properties and is also used to remove dye stains on the skin. Just massage a disk previously immersed in the liquid for a few minutes and then repeat the operation if necessary. You can also prepare a scrub , if you find it difficult to remove the last spots, mixing sugar, honey and lemon, a mixture that works great, even if you have used a very dark or black color.

Do it yourself: the remedies never end.

We have already talked about milk, toothpaste, "olive oil", lemon juice and cigarette ash dissolved in water, "apple cider vinegar," but there are also other non-harmful and effective remedies, for example l " hydrogen peroxide, disinfectant alcohol, fluid body lotion, cleansing milk, Marseille soap, perfume and a good quality shampoo. Hydrogen peroxide can be of great help. Be careful though if you have dyed red or light mahogany hair, as it could easily lighten. Or rub the lather gently with a castile soap until the stain fades, with a fluid body cream or cleansing milk, especially aloe vera. If the stain is not on the face, which has a more delicate skin , you can also try baking soda with a little mild lemon dish detergent (two tablespoons of baking soda and two tablespoons of detergent). Mix the baking soda with the light detergent until you get a soft batter, do not rub hard and do not touch your eyes and face. Keep in mind that even baking soda can crack the skin a little, as it is a light scrub that removes dead cells and even dye stains. Rub these substances with extreme delicacy with a cotton swab or make-up remover pad and then rinse well. Choose this solution for other areas of the body, hands, shoulders, neck. Then with a cloth soaked in hot water remove any residue of the batter and rinse well. Even a little disinfectant alcohol or a simple make-up remover can help you to remove the skin. Even these products must always be rubbed with circular movements, with great delicacy and patience. Or gently scrub the scented and delicate castile soap foam until the stain goes away. A few drops of perfume, spread delicately on the skin, can do a real magic on the spots. And so too is the hair shampoo which, in addition to being the best cleanser for hand nails, is able to eliminate well the color that creeps especially between the cuticles and flaking nail layers.

Beauty products and stain removers to remove a dye spot on the skin.

Micellar water is now among the beauty products used by almost all women every day: it is an excellent eye make-up remover and is also very effective in eliminating dye stains on the skin.
With any product, however, the skin should never be rubbed too much or too long so as not to irritate it. If you want to repeat the process, let about ten minutes pass and then start over. Baby oil is also a good remedy: spread some of it on the stains with your finger or with a cotton swab.
If you do not want to resort to natural products and you have little time to get rid of these stains quickly, you can use stain removers created just for these occurrences, excellent remedies, even if chemical.
We have protective barrier creams, stain remover cleaners, teint remover, chemical detergents for dyes and stain remover wipes. They usually contain ingredients that are not harmful but also tested for allergies, and therefore act delicately on the skin, without irritating it. Always using a cotton pad, rub a little of the product gently and then rinse. Vaseline is also a very effective product with no side effects on very sensitive skin. It should be applied in small quantities and massaged in a circular direction; it is also suitable for delicate areas of the face, but always away from the eyes and lower eyelids.
To spread the petroleum jelly well, use the make-up remover disk so as not to get your fingers dirty. You can also leave it on for the whole night, but perhaps it is preferable during the day, as in sleep you could touch your eyes without realizing it and irritate them. If, on the other hand, you decide to use a nail polish remover, if you have spots on your hands or arms, remember to never pass it on the skin of your face, it could irritate it especially if it is very sensitive.

Final recommendations: haste is a bad adviser!

Some natural remedies may also irritate your skin, so never overdo the scrubbing.
Do not be tempted in your haste to clear away the spots, using degreasers, bleach or dangerous diluents and above all do not mix these products together: you could cause toxic vapors.

Happy dyeing everyone!
