Rose quartz and Serenity are the two main colors of 2016 according to Pantone, the company that supplies standard colors for fashion and design, always listened to and followed when it comes to color trends.

Rose quartz and "Serenity", a shade of powder blue, are designed to meet an increasingly urgent demand for relaxation and well-being, which have become real emergencies in today's stressful world. This was announced by Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of Pantone who every year distils pearls of sociological wisdom and indicates the chromatic path to follow. In 2015 it was Marsala, but next year we will wear these two docile and lulling shades, pink and blue, two opposite poles as male and female in their reassuring version.
To tell the truth, however, the pink quartz has already caught a glimpse of a very particular trend that we have already told you about, the pink coats that are dominating this winter in an attempt to warm it with sweetness.
Pantone continues to explain his choice as proof that the two genders, male and female, are actually losing their specific connotations, or in any case the culture we are surrounded by allows us to escape from what is considered "by men" and what instead it is more feminine. By fading the pink and blue that designated the female and the male, and daring to combine them, Pantone indicates the way of a relaxation in the style of "man and woman, where maybe a man can dare a pink quartz shirt, very trendy" next year, without feeling observed.
Whether you want to take it as a law or as an industry curiosity, Pantone often manages to dictate color trends, and so let's expect an avalanche of sweetness and tenderness for 2016, with pink quartz and Serenity (if you only call it blue the more experienced friends could reproach you) to impose, with delicacy, their presence.
