Do you remember the famous sneakers from Back to the Future, which laced themselves? They really created them!

In the second film in the saga of Back to the Future, Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) wore a pair of self-lacing sneakers. A "futuristic invention of the screenwriters, which however has never ceased to fascinate aficionados of the film trilogy. Now Nike has decided to please all fans of Back to the Future creating the famous self-lacing sneakers, calling them Power Laces.

Already in 2011 Nike had tried to launch Mag Air, sneakers inspired by those of Marty, auctioned on eBay for fifteen days to finance the Michael J. Fox Foundation on research against neurodegenerative diseases (the same actor has Parkinson's disease).

Now, Nike tries again, with a model that hopefully thrills hordes of nostalgic fans. The shoes are identical to those of Back to the future 2, and it looks like they will be really self-lacing. The release date of these new sneakers? Brace yourselves: it is October 21, 2015, which is precisely the date on which the second episode of one of the most popular film sagas is set. A marketing move that is above all a wink to the fans.
