The love? A matter of politics
The survey, carried out on 5,000 married couples, was published in the Journal of Politics, and examined characteristics such as height, personality, religious beliefs, and ideepolitics. Surprisingly, the latter were very important in choosing one's partner, much more than appearance and character. The single most influential factor in politics in choosing one's life partner was religious belief.
“People pay more attention to those aspects that reveal affinity of spirit rather than physical attraction. At this point, the crucial question to ask the possible partner is no longer What sign are you ?, but what party are you from? " jokes Professor John Alford, the research coordinator.
