Museum selfie: the mania for the self-timer also arrives in the art world

Olivia Muus, a Danish designer who works in the advertising field, has created a blog in which she collects the most interesting and significant selfies of the works of art which, image after image, is coming to create a veritable virtual museum of self-portraits. The idea came about by chance: Olivia was visiting the Statens Museum for Kunst, a Danish art gallery, when she found herself accidentally photographing the hand of a friend of hers in front of a portrait.

The result, unexpectedly interesting and original, convinced her to start a real series, where the portraits acquire a touch of hi-tech by transforming themselves into selfies: thoughtful expressions, colored covers, fisheye lenses used for the shots and much more. The designer's project is to continue working on the works of art, inviting anyone who wants to contribute to the expansion of the virtual gallery by sharing these "artistic selfies" with her and the network, uploading them to Instagram using the hashtag # museumselfie.
