Liposuction to eliminate accumulations of fat

By lipoaspiration we mean the process of removing localized adiposity through the infiltration and introduction of millimeter-gauge cannulas capable of exerting a great suction force, aimed at reducing the thickness of the part, without causing any trauma locally .

While applicable to a wide variety of cases - accumulations of fat in the thighs, abdomen, hips, knees, ankles, chin and neck - the ideal candidate for liposuction is a young woman, under the age of 40, not excessively oily and with skin that is still elastic. However, it is possible to extend the intervention also to people of older age, who however have a good state of health.

Liposuction: why perform it

Each of us is provided with a defined number of fat cells that increase in number during childhood until puberty. From this period onwards, while remaining constant in number, these can enlarge causing weight gains and volumetric changes in the figure.

Diets, massages and various beauty treatments can reduce the volume of these cells, but not their number, therefore once the therapeutic effect is over, everything goes back to the way it was before.

On the other hand, undergoing lipoaspiration, the removed fat cannot be reformed because the fat cells are reduced numerically.

Liposuction: the intervention

The lipoaspiration operation takes place under local anesthesia and involves the insertion of a thin cannula under the skin through an incision made with a carbon dioxide laser.

The cannula is connected to an aspirator capable of lipoaspiration of the fat, which generally does not exceed the quantity of 2500-3000 cc. The goal is not to remove all the fat, but to remove only the excess, leaving a subcutaneous adipose layer above the muscles as uniform as possible.

The dressing includes a compressive bandage of the treated area which will be removed 7 days after surgery. It is possible that in the following days you will feel a slight soreness, as following a slight contusion. In addition, there may be small bruises, which tend to disappear within 15 days. The result will be definitive and optimally visible only after 6-8 months.
