Elena Arzak, best chef 2012

Her name is ElenaArzak, she is Spanish, and she is the daughter of Juan MariaArzak, one of the most renowned chefs in the world (3 Michelin stars among the various awards). She was named "Best Chef in the World 2012" award designated by VeuveClicquot which selects 50 restaurants from around the world to choose the best. Elena said she was "very excited and proud of the fact that with such an important award she recognizes the work of women in the world of" haute cuisine ".

Once again a woman wins the "first place": Elena takes the place of the French Anne-SophiePic, thanks to her avant-garde cuisine based on a continuous search for ingredients and combinations.

Elena represents the fourth generation of Arzak called to manage the family restaurant located in San Sebastiàn, Spain: founded in 1897 it was the first Basque restaurant to earn 3 Michelin stars and, since then, has never stopped riding the crest of the "wave.
