Cannes 2015: the names of the winners and the latest red carpet!
The 68th edition of the Cannes Film Festival ended a little while ago, with the awarding of the Palme d'Or to Jacques Audiard for the film. Dheepan on the drama of immigration in Europe.
The Best Actor Award went to a Vincent Lindon for his performance in The loi du marché by Stéphane Brizé and best actress, ex aequo, to Rooney Mara for Carol by Todd Haynes and Emmanuelle Bercot for Mon Roi by Maïwenn. The Jury Prize was instead awarded to The Lobster by the Greek Yorgos Lanthimos, a futuristic love story with Jonh C. Reilly, Colin Farrell, Rachel Weisz and Lea Seydoux.
The award for best director went to the martial arts fin The assassin by Hou Hsiao-Hsien, while the one for best screenplay went to Michel Franco for Chronic, of which he is also the director.
Agnès Varda, eighty-seven-year-old French director, screenwriter and photographer wins the Palme d'Or at the career.
Disappointment for our Italians in the race, Moretti, Garrone and Sorrentino, who unfortunately remain dry-mouthed.
