Lip tints are pure color usually in liquid form contained in tubes with brush applicator, or in the shape of a felt-tip pen. Their peculiarity is precisely that of being able to dye the mucous membrane of the lips, making the color remain bright for many hours and resisting food, drinks and ... kisses! In addition to being no transfer we can also define them kissproof!

Lip tint: how to apply it

As they said, lip tints are a long-lasting cosmetic and one of the first things to do to ensure that the performance on the lips is at the top, is to make sure you have hydrated lips and free of cuticles. What to do? Start with a lip scrub: you can prepare it at home with honey and sugar and then massage the mixture vigorously on the upper and lower lips; then rinse with warm water and apply a lip balm. Or, you can use a toothbrush: massage the bristles onto moistened lips for an instant scrub effect.

Before applying any type of lip tint, have the lip balm completely absorbed or remove it with a tissue: the color of the tint must take hold on the labial mucosa and needs to find the skin completely dry and clean.

If your lip tint has a brush-like applicator, the advice is to start from the center of the lips, slowly approaching the edges where you will use the tip of the brush for greater definition.

Marker lip tints, on the other hand, are easier to apply: with the tip, follow the contour of the lips and trace the lines up to the inner corners. Next, using the flat tip, fill in the center.

One of the peculiarities of lip tints is that the formulations are extremely thin, so you can layer the color without the fear of making a mess.

Once the first layer of color has been applied, wait a few moments and let it dry before proceeding with the second coat.

You will realize that in a few seconds your lips will have acquired an intense but completely natural color and above all you will have the feeling of having nothing on your mouth: how annoying are those lipsticks with heavy formulations that moreover move and go around the whole face?

With lip tint this will not happen: once it dries, forget the touch-ups and enjoy the day, the evening will still be there intact!

Lip tints: here are some on offer!

Why use lip tint?

If the question you ask yourself is, "why should I prefer a lip tint to a classic lipstick stick?", Now is the time to analyze the differences and understand which of the two products is right for you or not.

It is not certain that a cosmetic such as lip tint is suitable for everyone, there are some cases in which it is not recommended.

  • you have dry lips
  • suffer from lip irritation
  • you have herpes or other diseases in the mouth area

In these 3 cases mentioned above, the use of lip tint is not recommended because, being a product that dries, it tends to dry the lips and would only worsen the situation described in the cases mentioned above.

If, on the other hand, your lips are healthy and hydrated, you can indulge yourself with all the shades of lip tints on the market. Many are also waterproof, so you can wear them if you do, for example, water sports.

If you want a long-lasting make-up, perhaps for an important event, apply a lip tint of a natural color: it will help you to recreate a simple but effective make-up.

If you can't touch up your lipstick during the day, the lip tint comes to your rescue: being extremely resistant, there will be no need for touch-ups even after drinking, eating and ... kissing!

Differences between lip tint and liquid lipstick

The substantial difference with a liquid lipstick lies in the fact that while the tint is practically impalpable, the liquid lipstick has its own consistency, it dries the lips more precisely because it is more pasty than a tint.

In addition, liquid lipstick must be retouched because in contact with oily foods or drinks, it tends to fade. C "is to be said, to break a lance in favor of liquid lipstick, which is much more opaque from the first coat, which instead a lip tint does not do and needs at least two coats.

However, if on the one hand it can be considered a defect, on the other the tint also allows you to stop at a single pass and have a super natural effect of naked lips.

Finally, liquid lipsticks in some cases could crumble on the lips especially if you overdo it with the strokes.

How to remove make-up from a lip tint

Precisely because lip tints are long-lasting, it could sometimes take a little effort to remove make-up. The best products to remove all traces of lip dye are:

  • biphasic make-up remover
  • oily micellar water

How are they used? As for the micellar water, choose one that is oily based: not all of them are, so pay attention to the choice during the purchase phase. Then just use a soaked cotton pad and pass it on the lips trying not to rub, but massaging All traces of lip tint will go away!

If, on the other hand, you prefer to use a two-phase make-up remover, the procedure will be almost the same: shake the product well so that the oily phase and the aqueous phase mix well. Wet a cotton pad and pass it on your lips: a few moments and that's it, there will be no more trace of lip tint.
