Meaning of hearts: the right context for each color of the emoticon

The use of the mobile phone has completely changed the way we communicate. Emojis have progressively replaced facial expressions and body gestures, increasingly directed towards the synthesis and immediacy of the message. Along with emojis, there are also abbreviations, a scarcity of punctuation and an increasingly poor syntax. The world of communication and instant messaging has undergone numerous changes and innovations since the mobile phone became a tool in the public domain. Technology, in fact, has totally upset the way of communicating with others: from vocal messages, to short and incisive ones, to others full of emojis that indicate individual moods. Emojis are now the preferred means of communication. from the youngest and the oldest, the fastest and most precise way to communicate with others. WhatsApp but also the simple keyboards of mobile phones count an indefinite number of emojis, of all kinds: from the most ancient emoticons indicating visa expressions, to foods, to sports, to the most romantic and common hearts.All these emojis, in short, can in good measure replace entire sentences and words, replaced with symbolic language.

The heart thus remains the most significant and direct emoji carrying messages of love and is presented in different variations of colors, each of which has a meaning. In sequence we find: red, orange, yellow, blue, purple, brown, black and white. The new updates, however, have innovated the category of hearts even more, increasing the choice: pink hearts with sparkles, heart pierced by an arrow, heart that rotates on itself, smaller heart behind a bigger one, heart with the gift box bow.
In short, the choice is wide and varied, and the possibility of sending an equivocal message is very frequent. This is why it is good to know in advance the real meaning of hearts.

1. The red heart

Surely the most used, as well as the most significant, is the red heart, a symbol of love par excellence, in all its variations. Despite being considered the most romantic emoji, the red heart is actually also the simplest, but on WhatsApp has a particularity that distinguishes it from all the others: it is the only animated emoji. Whoever receives a red heart, therefore, will see a big beating heart appear on the screen!
Mind you, the red heart not only symbolizes love for your partner, but love in all its forms: for the most special friends, parents, children, loved ones in general. It can therefore be a voice of passion and romantic desire or a simple reminder of friendship, to remind someone of the affection that binds you.

2. The orange heart

Like the red heart, the orange also symbolizes love, but in a milder form. It is therefore a sort of red heart weakened by all that passionate and romantic charge that only such an intense color can symbolize. It is also suitable for avoiding misunderstandings or jealousies: for a work colleague, for a busy friend, for someone who is interested in you, but who does not reciprocate, and who therefore does not risk being deceived by immediately understanding that he must remain in the friend zone. 3. The yellow heart

The yellow heart is very particular and not sent if desired. It is a seasonal heart, it colors and fills our chats in the summer, it remembers the holidays, the joy, the energy and the vivacity.It is the color of the Sun and energy charge, yet it is often associated with negative feelings, such as jealousy. Sometimes, however, it can become a heart of gold, a golden heart, present purely in friendship. Thus it indicates the moments of joy and lightheartedness shared with friends and family, as well as as support for a friend. Far from symbolizing jealousy, therefore, the yellow heart is the emoji symbol of unconditional friendship, free from envy, resentment and lies. It is a soft and delicate "emoji, as is the message it conveys: friendship and genuine affection. Often, it is sent on the occasion of Mother's Day or Women's Day, probably because it is accompanied by the color of the flowers and mimosas in the second case.

4. The green heart

Among the least used colored hearts of all, the first place certainly goes to the green heart. It is in fact the least frequent both in a couple and in a relationship with any person. More than all colors, green represents nature and ecology and you will therefore use it for ecological or environmental issues. But that's not all: green is also the color of jealousy and envy, which is why sometimes it also means the presence of any problems in the couple relationship. In fact, green can also be seen as the "jealous heart", precisely because in some cases it represents misunderstandings in the couple or, on the other hand, the hope of reconciliation. 5. The blue heart

It is the other of the colors that is generally used less frequently. Initially absent in the category of hearts on WhatsApp, the black heart has arrived to please the goths, although this symbol has nothing to do with negative feelings. On the contrary, according to some, the black heart represents pure love even more than the red one, because it recalls an overwhelming passion. Sometimes, however, black can be sent to emphasize the sarcasm of a joke that apparently seems diabolical. More frequently, however, as a symbolic color in our tradition, it is also sent to be close to someone in mourning, thus joining their sadness.
