You will be surprised to discover that in addition to cosmetic creams and treatments, there are valid natural remedies. Watch the video and discover a truly infallible one!

Triggers of wrinkles under the eyes

What are the triggers of wrinkles around the eyes? How can they be eliminated or reduced? As we age, the skin becomes thinner: collagen and elastin decrease and therefore the skin has less resistance and elasticity. If the wrinkles are due to hereditary factors, they appear early. Wrinkles around the eyes have various causes. Age favors the appearance of "bags" under the eyes, those unsightly swellings that age the face, making it appear tired and sleepy. The lack of elasticity over the years means that water retention, condensing in the eye contour (in case of sinusitis, obstructed turbinates or tiring lymphatic drainage), dilates the skin and that this excess of dermis, once the swelling has passed, create a series of ripples in the eyelid area, especially in the lower one. Even if you sleep little or badly, you can wake up with ugly swollen "bags" and dark circles. Expression lines are formed mainly on the outer sides of the eye and are often very marked. Since the area around the eyes is very sensitive, thin and not very elastic, especially in mature age, even the way of laughing by squeezing the eyes too tightly or a frown can cause expression lines, if it is a habitual, frequently repeated gesture. In a young and supple skin, these facial movements, on the other hand, leave no trace. The way you sleep is also fundamental. If you sleep by rubbing half the side of your face on the pillow, you can wake up with the so-called sleep lines in the eye area, which will initially disappear with natural or cosmetic remedies, but gradually, if you continue to rest in this position, they will become marked and indelible.

Other precautions to prevent and reduce wrinkles around the eyes

Obviously, the more the years pass, the less toned the skin is and it loses collagen, so preventive measures must be taken. The position in which you rest is fundamental: it is necessary to sleep with more pillows, as holding the head higher reduces the water retention of the eyelids, and possibly in the supine position or at least without pressing one side of the face on the pillow. The type of pillowcase used is also important. Pillow cases that are too wide for the pillow or of poor quality facilitate the creasing of the eye area. Mulberry silk ones are recommended, soft, hypoallergenic, well adherent to the pillow, which do not crease and do not press the skin of the face. Even the sun and smoke worsen this situation, as does a diet rich in meat and sausages, which promotes water retention. In summer, if you go out in the sun, always use glasses and a good sunscreen. Exposing yourself to the sun without adequate protection can cause various problems for sun spots and wrinkles, especially for those with dry skin. In fact, those with oilier skin are less prone to early and very marked wrinkles. Salt water also causes greater dryness of the skin: therefore, carefully rinse the eye area and always moisturize it after swimming in the sea. The skin's natural elastin and collagen are severely damaged by free radicals released by smoke, which causes dryness and aging of the skin and also the premature appearance of skin spots. In addition, smoking often tends to squint too much, because the smoke clouds them or makes them water. Even the bad habit of not removing make-up well before going to sleep, given the chemical components often contained in cosmetics, weakens the skin, which becomes more vulnerable to external attacks and even stress. If you press young skin, rich in collagen, thanks to its elasticity it immediately returns to its original form, while even a few minutes' pressure leaves its mark for more time on more mature skin. Even keeping the hand pressed to the face, pushing the cheek towards the eye, in a pensive or sleepy attitude, easily creates wrinkles under the eyes, real creases in the skin, quite difficult to remove.

Various remedies for reducing wrinkles around the eyes.

There are excellent anti-wrinkle creams for the eye contour with specific effects: firming, moisturizing or plumping. Never apply masks or eye creams by pulling the skin too hard, but tap the area gently, at least twice a day. Glitter and powder eyeshadows highlight fine lines more; instead, those in cream moisturize the skin and do not mark it. The area around the eyes is prone to allergies; if you have a cold, try never to touch your eyes and eyelids, as you could get a periocular dermatitis. When you put on make-up or make-up do not forget that it is a very delicate part of the face: never rub it too hard and do not scratch with your nails, even if you feel itching or burning, perhaps caused by redness due to excessive tearing that mixes with makeup, especially with mascara. To keep the eye area elastic, you can try a little gymnastics, which consists of closing your eyes for a while, and then reopening them as much as possible, until you feel the muscles in the area well tense. Eye massage is also very effective in reducing fine lines. First moisturize your hands with olive oil or coconut or grape seed oil and then massage the eye area with the tips of your little fingers and with circular movements. Then there are patches based on hyaluronic acid and jojoba oil, which smooth and rejuvenate the skin around the eyes. Vaseline can reduce expression lines by deeply moisturizing the eye contour. It should be put on in the evening before going to bed. Excellent for the eye contour, as for all areas of the face, it is hyaluronic acid (obviously the one contained in specific creams for the eyelids), as it has a strong oxidizing power and deeply nourishes the skin, definitely improving its appearance.

Specialist treatments to reduce or eliminate wrinkles under the eyes.

There are various methods for eliminating or reducing wrinkles around the eyes, such as fillers, botox, laser and microdermabrasion. Dermal fillers for the treatment of wrinkles restore volume to the eyelids and last for about a year. Even the effects of botox, which, by blocking the muscles of the periocular area, fills the wrinkles, last about a year; therefore new injections are periodically necessary. Laser treatment facilitates the production of collagen. Thanks to laser resufarcing, even the deepest wrinkles around the eyes can be reduced. The innovative Fraxel Laser can use two different wavelengths, at 1550 mm and at 1927 mm to act both at a deep and superficial level, eliminating all forms of skin imperfections. Fractionated CO2 is a laser that combines the action of the CO2 laser with radiofrequency and acts by damaging only microfractions of deep tissue, leaving the superficial skin unharmed. Microdermabrasion is used not only for wrinkles but also for stretch marks, scars and skin spots and can be performed without anesthesia; it is preferable to more invasive dermabrasion, especially if you have sensitive skin. This technique smoothes the skin and makes it soft, smooth and toned, eliminating the most superficial layers. Obviously, for this type of intervention it is necessary to contact highly specialized personnel to avoid even serious side effects. Before the treatment you must not expose yourself to the sun, or do a scrub, or wax on the face.

Home remedies and natural for a blemish hated by women and men.

An ancient but effective remedy to reduce wrinkles around the eyes is that of beaten egg white, as it can stretch the skin, making it taut and without creases. Among the natural remedies we mention the rosehip-based oil, which fights the formation of periocular wrinkles well, as it is very nourishing and restores tone and freshness to the skin. Chamomile also has an antioxidant action and its packs, which can also be done with the same sachets of industrial packs warmed in water, are quite effective. Avocado is very useful for reducing wrinkles, because it slows down skin aging by stimulating the production of collagen. It contains a lot of vitamin E and cleanses the skin of pimples, dermatitis and impurities. The avocado mask provides fatty acids that are very useful for the well-being of the eye contour area. Both Vitamin B and E will gradually make your skin toned and relaxed. Applying cucumber juice on the eyelids or placing the cut slices in the areas affected by wrinkles will help reduce them; it will also eliminate dark circles and give relief to swollen and tired eyes, effectively refreshing them. In fact, cucumber contains vitamins C and E, 96% water and many essential oils. The skin needs a lot of water, so drink at least 2 liters of water a day to hydrate it and never forget the moisturizer all over the face and a specific one for the eye area. You can also spread a little olive oil with milk and rose water on the eye area, applying the mixture gently: the skin will immediately become relaxed and toned.
