Reggio Children: the most beautiful kindergartens in the world

Legacy of an enlightened pedagogist like Loris Malaguzzi and of an administration that has always supported them since the 1970s, Reggio Children represents the set of municipal preschools and infant-toddler centers that are based on the "hundred languages" of children, organized in classrooms -atelier where even the very young are free to manipulate (unthinkable) materials and explore an environment full of beauty.

Each school has a fixed "atelierista", with artistic training, who guides the activities. Walls replaced by windows, internal gardens, doors open around a “common square”: here all the staff, from the pedagogical coordinator to the cook, share the same educational approach.

And today the excellence of Reggio Children, which inspire them from all over the world, is also the subject of research: the Nobel Prize in Economics James Heckman, who spoke at Conference on Education and Politics which was held in the city from 21 to 23 February, is studying its positive long-term effects.
