New energy classes from January

We have been talking about it for a while, but now we are: from January 1, 2013 the new European Erp legislation will come into force which will introduce stricter criteria for defining the energy class of air conditioning appliances. This can be considered a small- great turning point, because the industry standards will finally be redefined and gradually introduced, over the course of six years, new energy classes, namely A + / A ++ / A +++. of the latter.

“The legislation raises the bar of minimum product efficiency and puts order in the sector, establishing that if a product is not efficient it cannot be sold. Thus, whoever is able to make an efficient appliance will be able to stand out on the market and be rewarded. And consumers will also have the tools to make the best choice, ”said Walter Rebosio, Technical & Training Department Manager of Mitsubishi Electric, a company that for obvious reasons feels called into question. “The introduction of the ERP legislation will affect above all low-end producers, who will have to decide whether to reposition themselves on greater efficiency”, in fact Rebosio says, anticipating: “We will launch new, very attractive product ranges that will allow energy savings of 20%”.

Something tells us that, in addition to the legislation, from January there will also be competition between companies, primarily multinationals.
