Here is Katie Meade, the first beauty icon affected by trisomy 21
It is a first time in the fashion world, a young woman with trisomy 21 is chosen as the ambassador of a well-known American cosmetics brand. Katie Meade is the "icon of Beauty & Pin-Ups and has the task of representing a face mask called"Fearless'.
Kenny Kahn, the president of the cosmetics house, confided to the site PeopleStyleWatch that Katie has always been the first choice. They didn't want conventional testimonials and she perfectly embodies what they were looking for.

Katie is very happy to have joined the Beauty & Pin-Ups family, people see her as a woman and not as a handicapped person. The young woman is perfectly at ease in front of the lens, smiles casually as the photographer whirls around her.
'Beauty belongs to the whole world", she says. We believe it because it is not the first time that Katie gets involved: she even won a gold medal at the Paralympics!
