  • Tear off one side of the package with your hands and gently so as not to damage it when opening.
  • Wear it only when the penis is erect.
  • Make sure that the part to be unrolled is on the outside.
  • Squeeze the tip between your fingers, so as to eliminate the air.
  • Unroll it along the penis.
  • After intercourse, remove it after the man is completely out of the woman's body before removing it.

Possible accidents

  • If the condom broke: the relationship is no longer protected. Remove it immediately and take a pregnancy test and a seropositivity test.
  • If the condom unrolls: fix it immediately or change it. It is advisable to always check during intercourse that the condom is in place.
  • If you are allergic to latex: you will feel itchy but there is no reason to worry. In fact, there are deproteinized latex condoms, which minimize the risk of allergy. Durex forward last, made of polyurethane, is one of the best known (and also among the thinnest).

Broken condom? Here's what to do

The female condom

It is as effective as the male one on both the protective and contraceptive front but its use is not as widespread. Here are its advantages:

  • it is much more resistant and the risks of breakage are minimal.
  • it can be put up to eight hours before intercourse, allowing you not to interrupt the foreplay.
  • the penis is not compressed.
  • it should not be removed immediately after ejaculation.

However, there is a drawback: you have to practice inserting it. You will need to try several times before you learn how to put it on with your eyes closed. Precisely for this reason it is recommended for women who have already had sexual intercourse and who know their body well
