4 cool things to do indoors in your free time!

There are so many interesting things to do at home in your free time. Often we can't wait to finish work to finally be able to relax, but at that moment we don't know what to do and we end up sprawled in front of the television or with our mobile phone in hand getting bored.

So here are four certainly stimulating ideas to spend your free time in an intelligent way. These are four activities that are very different from each other, but all share the same ability to achieve your physical or intellectual well-being!

1. Things to do in your free time? Training at home!

If in your free time at home you want to do something useful for yourself, something that makes you feel fit and at ease with your body, the perfect activity is only one: working out! Going to the gym, we know, takes time, money and a great willpower. By training comfortably at home, however, you will get many advantages: first of all, the not indifferent one of not spending a single lira!

Second: if your free time is limited, you can make the most of it. It takes only half an hour to keep fit - the time that often just going to and from the gym would require ... And as for willpower, that takes anyway, but if it's cold outside, you don't have want to take the car and so on, getting up from the sofa and rolling out a mat will require much less.

Choose your favorite play-list, then, and use your free time to keep fit! Not sure which exercises to start with to train at home? Remember that it is always essential to do a little warm-up. It's okay to stretch, or a bit of running in place. Again: raise your legs and bring your knees to your chest, first one and then the other.

After you've warmed up properly, choose which parts of your body you want to work on. The ideal would be to train a little every day and proceed in rotation, according to the free time you have available, so as not to neglect any muscle in your body.

You can train and tone your glutes with front lunges, performing at least 4 sets of 10 reps. You can then continue with the inevitable squats, the most suitable exercise not only for the butt, but also for the thighs: even in this case, 4 sets of 10 will be fine!

Again for the legs, but also involving the abdominal belt, you can try the climber, which consists of resting on your arms with your legs stretched and raised, then bringing one leg at a time towards your chest and proceeding just as if you were "climbing" a mountain. 30 seconds is the minimum time to start!

For a flat stomach, you can't ignore the crunch, the simplest exercise to train the abdominals. The series in this case must be at least 8 of 5 repetitions: you will increase them over time!

And if you feel really very, very lazy, here are some exercises you can do by staying quietly on the sofa:

2. Listen to a podcast, the new trending media

Another interesting and decidedly stimulating activity that you can do in your free time (at home or even outside, in this case!) Is listening to a podcast. What is it? Podcasts are audio files made especially to be listened to on your pc. or on computer devices, from smartphones to mp3 players. You can listen to them online or download them to your device. These files, generally of an informative nature, can cover the most disparate topics, from TV series to cooking, from fashion to politics, from interviews to make up!

We in the editorial office particularly liked the podcast L'Olimpia created by Sara Stevanato (here you can see the Instagram profile), one of the most interesting Italian realities, which offers interviews with Italian characters who have chosen to lead an atypical life, including artists , journalists, actors, entrepreneurs, directors. Among the interviewees you can listen to Alice Agnelli of A Gipsy in the kitchen, Petra Loreggian, the founders of Gnambox, Annamaria Bernardini de Pace, Silvia Grilli, Emilie Fouilloux. "I created L'Olimpia", Sara declares, "because I'm curious and I love to interview. I listened to podcasts of this kind abroad and I said to myself that it was a pity they weren't also in Italy. I only interview people who inspire me and whom I admire. . I ask them everything I ask myself at that particular moment, to get answers on the meaning of life and on how to best face it (especially in terms of professional choices). I believe that how it can help me and many other people, especially the young people, who are looking for answers. ”You can find all the episodes on www.lolimpia.it or you can search for it on the Apple Podcast app or iTunes.

The podcast is an established media in America, but it is spreading more and more also in us. The reason for this success? "It allows us to escape from reality"explains Sara,"to immerse ourselves in a topic that we like, forgetting the thousand distractions of social media and to rediscover the value of attention, which we are now struggling to have. Even when we watch a movie we tend to watch Instagram or Facebook! Thanks to the podcast we discover and deepen contents that interest us and that are not treated superficially. Furthermore, we can listen to it without having to devote time dedicated only to this and it is fantastic, because you can do it while running, on long journeys by train, by car, by plane. A free and fun company that makes you addict!'.

You just have to try: free time has never been so enjoyable and enriching!

3. Beauty farm at home: when free time makes you beautiful!

Free time is the best time to relax and take care of yourself. So why not take advantage of it to give yourself a nice beauty ritual, improvising a beauty farm at home? By giving yourself some nice do-it-yourself treatments you will not only feel more radiant and glowing, but you will also experience a remarkable sense of psychological well-being.

You can start by taking care of your body with a nice draining bath, perfect if you feel very tired and want to shake off the fatigue. Fill the tub with hot water and add the following mix that you have taken care to prepare separately, mixing the ingredients in a bowl: 5 drops of cypress essential oil, 5 of lemon essential oil, 5 of lavender essential oil, 5 of essential oil of bitter orange and 5 of essential oil of rosemary. Immerse yourself in the tub and stay there for at least a quarter of an hour!

To the draining bath, you can add a salt scrub, perfect especially if you have cellulite problems and want to improve your circulation. All you need is a cup of coarse sea salt, to massage on the skin while you are still in the tub, starting from the feet and going up gradually. Massages should be gentle and circular. You will immediately feel the benefits! The scrub can be followed by the use of a good moisturizing oil, which nourishes and quenches the skin from which you have just eliminated dead cells.

You can also choose to take care of the skin on your face by making a nice mask, better if you do-it-yourself. Try a very sweet and energizing honey based: just mix together two tablespoons of whole yogurt, a teaspoon of honey and one of lemon juice. Simple, isn't it? After you have blended your lotion well, spread it gently on clean skin and leave the mask on for about twenty minutes. Then rinse with warm water and put on your favorite moisturizer.

If you suffer from acne, try this clay recipe instead: you will need 30 grams of red clay, 2 teaspoons of oatmeal, 3 tablespoons of rose water, a drop of rose essential oil, one of frankincense and another bitter orange. Spread the mixture on your face avoiding the lips and eye area, then let it act for 15 minutes and remove with warm water.

4. What to do in your free time if you don't read a good book? How to choose which one

If you're not a reader, you don't know what you're missing! Reading a good book is like going on a journey: it can open the doors to another world, making you live a thousand lives that are not yours. Abandon yourself to the pleasure of daydreaming, from page to page, and you will never be able to do without it.

Often those who are not used to reading, would like to start, but block their instincts because they do not know which book to start with and in the library, surrounded by volumes, they feel intimidated and feel a certain embarrassment even just asking. Does it happen to you too? Don't worry, it's pretty common.

There are actually tons of ways to choose a book that's right for you. The first is to start from your interests and do some research on the internet. Do you like music? Look for a novel that has a musician as its protagonist or that is set in the world of discography. Do you love cooking? cooks, restaurateurs, passionate women in the kitchen!

Always browsing online, you can find many literary sites and blogs with book reviews: read the plots and opinions of other readers. If it inspires you, try to buy it. When you finish it, you can add your own comment as well, and it will be a great way to make new friends and become part of a community.

If you prefer the meeting in flesh and blood to the virtual one, find out about the reading groups in your vicinity. There are many independent bookstores that organize them, selecting a book to read all together and then discussing it at the next meeting.

But perhaps the simplest system is just to look carefully around the house: you will surely find a book, perhaps with a dedication, that someone gave you and that has been there to collect dust for a long time. Maybe it's time to figure out why it made him think of you.
