The therapeutic power of music: the case of Mr. Hardy

Edward Hardy is a 95-year-old man diagnosed with senile dementia. After long days in which he was shy and silent and in which he missed his wife Betty, there could not have been a better gift. The man is in fact a jazz musician and it is by providing him with the opportunity to play his pieces, accompanied by friends, that they succeed in giving him back his smile.
