Mothers bloggers “At the PetCare® School” with Purina

Christmas is approaching, a magical moment full of expectations, especially for the little ones who are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Santa Claus with gifts.

And what is one of the most requested gifts by children? A puppy. Oh yes, how many times have you parents been faced with such a heartfelt request? And how did you explain to your children that a dog is not a toy, but a living being that requires commitment, sacrifice and attention?

To help parents in this task and to introduce children gradually and correctly to the world of pets, “A Scuola di PetCare®”.
The campaign, unique on a national level, has been promoted by Purina for about 10 years and is carried out in collaboration with Giunti Progetti Educativi, Scivac and FNOVI, and over the years has had the patronage of the Ministry of Health and the National Association of Italian Veterinarians

The purpose? Raise awareness of the benefits of interaction between humans and so-called pets (pets) and make people understand in a fun and concrete way what it means to have a puppy and what the correct education to give him must be.

But not only: sitting in the desks just like their children at school, mothers have learned the fundamental role that a pet can play in the growth of children and that each of them, be it dog, cat or turtle, needs care. and attention, to live happy and healthy.

The day took place at Cascina Cuccagna, in Milan, and while the mothers were busy learning the ABC of the proper introduction of a pet into the family, the little ones had fun in the company of a dog instructor and Lope, an affectionate and very sweet Golden Retriever who won everyone's hearts.

The initiative is part of a broader and more structured project that Purina has been carrying out since 2004 and which has involved, to date, over 450,000 children and more than 35,000 primary school teachers from all over Italy.

According to the data presented recently in a conference promoted by the Donneinrete and FormAzione associations entitled "Men and animals", there are almost 45 million animals that populate the homes of Italians. Unfortunately, the numbers concerning abandonment and mistreatment of these are still very high. Teaching children and adults how to approach an animal, how to educate it, what to consider before taking one and what not to do, is essential to ensure that the man-animal relationship is ever happier and more balanced.

With this in mind, the Purina www.purina.it campaign is positioned

Teachers who want to join the initiative can request the educational kit distributed free of charge and participate, with their classes, in the contest "How to become friends forever": just write a PetStory that has a pet, its owner as protagonists. and the friendship that binds them. The winning story will be transformed into a cartoon.

And the mothers bloggers were also involved in a creative writing experience that will lead to the creation of an audio book of fairy tales that will be distributed for free on the net, and can be given to all children - and parents - who love pets. .
