Coronavirus: VIP donations and all solidarity initiatives

Coronavirus emergency: after words, the time has come to move on to facts. And the VIPs are there to lead by example. First of all King George who never misses an opportunity to prove himself a great lord. No, we are not talking about a monarch, but about the one and, we hope this time imitable, Giorgio Armani. The designer, in fact, to face the health crisis that is engulfing the country, has decided to donate one million and 250 thousand euros to the Luigi Sacco, San Raffaele hospitals, the Milan Cancer Institute, Spallanzani in Rome and to the civil protection department. A gesture of great solidarity to provide concrete help to hospitals that are facing an "unprecedented health emergency, working day and night nonstop to treat Covid-19 and non-Covid patients.

We recall, in fact, that despite the focus at the moment is mainly on Coronavirus, doctors, nurses and all hospital staff continue to care for patients of all kinds, but the health system is close to collapse.

The Ferragnezes inaugurate the fundraising

In this regard, Chiara Ferragni and Fedez also intervene who, with a donation of 100 thousand euros, inaugurate the fundraising campaign whose proceeds will be donated entirely to the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan for the creation of new beds within the intensive care unit.It is here, in fact, that the sick in the most critical conditions are concentrated, who need a monitor to monitor vital functions, a ventilator to facilitate breathing and pumps for infusions of liquids and drugs. It goes without saying that the cost of an ICU place is quite high.

Donating something makes you feel less useless in this moment in which we are forced at home on the sofa! We all make a small gesture. Bravi @ChiaraFerragni and @Fedez Coronavirus, let's strengthen the intensive care https://t.co/d5BKng40Ls

The head of cardiovascular and general intensive care of the San Raffaele hospital speaks

“It is a concrete contribution that we appreciate very much and that we hope will be an example for many. We continue our battle, which we will win, against this extraordinary emergency, where intensive care is the "only chance for recovery for the most serious patients"

It is with these words that Professor Alberto Zangrillo, one of the organizers of the initiative and head of cardiovascular and general intensive care at the San Raffaele hospital in Milan, invites everyone to donate.

Fondazone Buzzi and all the other fundraisers

The Buzzi Foundation also wants to support the Intensive Care of the Buzzi Hospital, providing it with 20 beds.
An intensive care bed costs more than a normal hospital bed. You need a monitor that detects the patient's vital functions, a ventilator to assist the patient's breathing and a series of infusion pumps for liquids and drugs.
At a time of such great difficulty and emergency, the Buzzi Foundation will undertake to make the equipment donated and necessary to deal with the emergency available to the Sacco Hospital and other hospitals in Lombardy.

But solidarity does not end there!

Yoopies, the largest childcare platform in Europe, shows its most supportive side, providing concrete help to all parents who, in this critical situation, are at the forefront of the fight against Coronavirus. These are all health workers who, for obvious reasons, cannot stay at home taking parental leave and, consequently, need third parties to take care of their children. Excluding grandparents, to be protected as people most exposed to the risk of contagion, there are no alternatives but to turn to a babysitter who, however, provides for a certain economic outlay. This is why Yoopies decided to activate a platform in some European countries including France, Great Britain, Italy, Spain and Portugal on which it is possible to find volunteers to carry out the task for free. Students and childcare professionals are called upon to appeal to offer their free help not only to health personnel, but also to those who are still employed in the food and essential public services sectors.
On https://info.yoopies.it/yoopies-aiuta/ it is possible to register to make your contribution.

Even if we feel powerless in the face of this dramatic situation, it is possible to do something, by adhering to the rules set by the government to making a donation, even a minimal one. Only united, we will come out winning.
On gofundme.com, you will find all the fundraisers open in Italy.
