Mothers and children. An extraordinary collection of photos has been rediscovered after 50 years. Look at them!

In 1965 the photographer Ken Heyman, now 83 years old, collaborated with the famous anthropologist Margaret Mead for the creation of a book, Family. The research, accompanied by a large number of images, is focused on the figure of the mother, studied and observed in many parts of the world, to try to grasp the differences and similarities between mothers in different cultures.

The work, like the series of photographs, was forgotten, until the photographer's former agent miraculously found rolls of film and photographs in a warehouse that was about to be emptied and cleaned. The result is what you can see in the images below: an extraordinary collection of black and white photos with mothers from all over the world playing with their children, washing them, combing them, holding them in their arms.
