Gyms and sports centers: early openings and new rules

The hypothesis of an early opening of gyms and sports centers is becoming increasingly real. This is said by the Minister of Sport and Youth Policies, Vincenzo Spadafora, who announces that: "we will reopen all the basic sports centers on May 25, but perhaps even sooner if the Cts (technical-scientific committee) gives us the ok ". All, of course, in compliance with certain protocols for each activity. The Minister mentions gyms, dance centers and also includes sports such as tennis, fishing and swimming in the category. On the other hand, sports where physical contact is required, such as football, will have to wait even longer before they can start again. “Sport and wellness go hand in hand. Young people and sport are fundamental levers for the restart of the country ", stresses Spadafora, convinced that physical activity can provide a beneficial contribution to the physical and mental health of a country tried by months of lockdown.

All customers, then, have the task of sanitizing the tools after using them, washing their hands often or sanitizing them with the dispensers used by the facilities and, nevertheless, they must have sealed bags in which to throw potentially infected personal waste. . Common areas, such as changing rooms and showers, will be strictly closed to the public. It will be possible to train in the smaller gyms only by appointment, while in the more spacious ones it will be possible to do so, but with limited admissions. In addition, instructors are required to wear gloves and masks and will be able to provide assistance as long as they keep 2 meters away. Finally, it is not excluded that the obligation to drink from disposable glasses or bottles is introduced.
