In love for 50 years: the Coronavirus separates them and the doctors reunite them

In health and in sickness. Giorgio and Rosa know this well, married for over 50 years and both hospitalized in Cremona for COVID-19. He, on March 17, she a few days later, in another department, that of multi-specialist surgery. "I want to go home to my Rosa", this is the desire expressed several times by the man to the medical team who treated him. At that time, loneliness was added to physical pain, a feeling from which he had always been preserved thanks to the constant presence of Rosa, the love of his life. Giorgio's appeal, "one of those people you can't help but get attached to", as a doctor defines him, did not go unheard and, thus, two doctors worked out to reunite the loving couple.

Respecting the hospital protocol, husband and wife were led into the same room, where, surprisingly, they were able - finally - to hug again. Their meeting, for a moment, stopped time and no one, between doctors and nurses, was able to hold back the tears. Giorgio and Rosa, after endless days, spent one away from the other, found themselves in an embrace, in a caress, in the umpteenth declaration of love, the real one, with a capital A.

Their story shows us that there are no obstacles that are too high to overcome or bad weather that is too strong to bear, when the desire to be together is stronger than everything else.
