Why use sunscreen?

Why protect yourself?

The sun can become dangerous if precautions are not taken. Premature aging of the skin, skin reactions of all kinds ... are you sure you want to take these risks in order to have a seductive tan?

The immediate risks of bad exposure are sunstrokes, but in the long term there is even a risk of skin cancer. It is therefore essential to use UV (ultraviolet) protection.

- UVBs act at the epidermal level and are responsible for sunburn. Free radicals are generated by UVA, which cause an alteration of cells and supporting fibers, causing photo-aging. Infrared (IR) touches the deepest layer of the skin, the hypodermis, and dehydrates the skin.

Remember that protecting yourself will not prevent you from getting a tan, on the contrary. A progressive tan has a better chance of lasting over time than that obtained with repeated sun strokes.

Which cream to choose?

You have a wide choice. Every summer we let ourselves be tempted by a new sunscreen. But new products are not always characterized by particular innovations in terms of protection.

To determine the right level of protection for you, you need to take into account your skin type (sensitive to amber skin) and your holiday destination.

You can choose between 4 possible levels:

- weak protection, index from 6 to 10.

- medium protection, index from 15 to 25.

- high protection, index from 30 to 50.

- very high protection, index greater than 50.

Creams are indispensable, but there are also other rules to follow to protect yourself. Never expose between 12pm and 4pm. And don't forget the benefits of a hat or sunglasses!

How to use the cream well?

Once you have bought the cream, you must use it properly!

> It is necessary to apply it before going out in the sun, reapply it every two hours, after every bath or when you change position.

> Would you like to reuse last year's products? Know that it is wiser to buy new ones, because the old ones may no longer be effective.

> During the first few exposures, be especially careful, as it is at this stage that the skin is at its most delicate.

The benefits of the sun

It is known that the sun is an excellent anti-depressant, it raises morale and develops melatonin, a hormone that has a great influence on our biological rhythm. Thanks to the action of the irradiation of ultraviolet rays, which synthesize vitamin D, it allows calcium to be fixed on the bones. It also benefits some skin diseases. If you adopt the right gestures, then, there is no reason to deprive yourself of the sun!
