Aids vaccine: first tests positive
The vaccine against AIDS could become a reality. According to the first results of the experiment, the vaccine (called AT20) of Dr. Alfonso Caruso, director of the Microbiology unit of the University of Brescia, would be able to neutralize the P17 protein that is considered responsible for diseases related to the HIV virus.
It seems that from the first tests, the vaccine has no side effects and has managed to create antibodies capable of neutralizing the toxicity levels of the protein in all subjects to which it was injected. We now move on to the second phase, that is to test the vaccine on a higher number of people, to confirm its effectiveness.
Could 2014 be the year in which medical research will succeed accomplish one of the most anticipated miracles?
