A gold ribbon to support research

In Italy alone, it affects over 47,000 women a year: we are talking about breast cancer. And even if the percentage of cure is always higher, supporting research and encouraging prevention and early diagnosis becomes imperative because it is mainly thanks to them that the mortality of those suffering from this disease is increasingly close to 0.

Also this year L’Oréal Paris renews its commitment to the Umberto Veronesi Foundation, following up on the "Nastro Oro Campaign. Breast cancer. Prevent to win. Together.". From 22 April to 7 May in the Ipercoop stores and from 15 May to 28 May in the Coop Supermercati stores, for each product purchased, L’Oréal Paris donates 50 cents to the Umberto Veronesi Foundation, which will finance scholarships for breast doctors.

The symbol chosen for the campaign is a small folded gold-colored ribbon: a simple ornament, which communicates the commitment and responsibility to this important initiative and the desire to disseminate breast cancer prevention to all who see it.

Testimonials are three great sports champions who take to the field to raise awareness of prevention: Tania Cagnotto, World Diving Champion, Francesca Piccinini, World Volleyball Champion and Alessandra Sensini, Olympic Windsurfing Champion.

"I immediately joined this campaign, because I am happy to help spread a positive message to all women. Breast cancer can be beaten thanks to prevention. first training sessions ”, says Tania Cagnotto.

"For me it is an honor to take the field alongside the Veronesi Foundation. We women have intense rhythms and too often we neglect our commitments with our health. With this campaign I would like to remind all women, and a little to myself, to take care of yourself ", says Francesca Piccinini.

"To obtain results in the sports field, it is necessary to know how to" suffer "in training and during competitions. Being used to resisting to reach a goal, to overcome the difficult moments of a training or a competition, are conditions that also occur in daily life. Sport teaches to "hold on", not to stop in front of the first obstacle and to develop a certain degree of tenacity, the same tenacity that is needed in dealing with a disease with awareness, knowing that thanks to research, but above all prevention can be cured in most cases. This is the message I would like to communicate to all women ", concludes Alessandra Sensini.
