Lip tattoo: what it is, why to do it and who to trust

Lip tattooing is an increasingly popular beauty treatment better known as dermopigmentation. Why is it becoming so popular? Many women love it and choose to do it precisely because this is like having a permanent make-up and lips that are always colored, made up and outlined to perfection. This practice, however, has advantages and disadvantages that we will see in this article.

If you are thinking of using a lip tattoo, you are in the right place, but before proceeding we invite you to watch this video with an idea for a summer lip makeup.

Lip tattoo: what does it consist of?

Basically it is the same thing and that is the aesthetic technique that allows you to always have a perfect, defined, but natural mouth. You can choose to do the micropigmentation of the lip mucosa or of the contour not only to avoid having to apply the lipstick every time, but also to correct small defects such as an asymmetrical mouth, too thin lips, loss of tone or photo-aging.

The dermopigmentation technique allows you to create permanent or semi-permanent make-up on various parts of the body: lips, eyebrows, eyes, to correct baldness or alopecia, to mask the scars left on the skin by acne, wounds or surgery.

In fact, the name dermopigmentation derives from the fact that through the use of pigment or color we go to design a part of the body that we want to modify or correct, very similar to the traditional tattoo.

To carry out this treatment it is necessary to be a specialized and qualified professional, to buy a dermograph, that is a machine capable of pigmenting the skin and above all to periodically update oneself to be as avant-garde as possible.

Is the lip tattoo a permanent makeup?

Talking about permanent or semi-permanent makeup is the same thing. Both of these terms always refer to the dermopigmentation of the lips or other parts of the body.

Saying that a tattoo is permanent or semi-permanent does not actually change things: it is always a pigment that is inserted into the most superficial layer of the skin, but unlike the traditional tattoo, the lip or eyebrow tattoo involves the use of absorbable pigments, different from the indelible ones used by professional tattoo artists. While the former are easily "disposed of" by the body without leaving traces, the same does not happen for the latter.

Being based on iron oxide, the color of the traditional tattoo over time (usually 12 months) oxidizes, changes and needs to be retouched to have it intensified again.
