Another quick solution to sunburn are potatoes, or rather, a simple slice of a potato. Just apply a slice of a potato on the part of the burned skin for about 15-20 minutes to immediately feel a sensation of relief and freshness. This is because potatoes are rich in solanine, which is a substance containing a generous percentage of carbohydrates. In fact, burns need glucose, mainly from carbohydrates, to heal. Solanine therefore has the ability to prevent the formation of blisters which in the long run could cause annoying and unsightly peeling.
