Back to school: 10 tips for mothers!

1. Gradually adapt to new schedules

Time and hours during the three months of summer vacation are really different from the usual ones at school: you stay up in the evening for longer, watch more TV, play more, wake up later in the morning.
Really all very different from school hours!
After the summer it is therefore difficult to resume the daily routine: it is therefore important to accustom your children little by little, a few weeks before, with more regular schedules and closer to those which they will then necessarily have to resume with the beginning of school.

2. What does it need?

Should I buy him some new clothes? New school supplies, notebooks, pens and pencils? In short, prepare the shopping list for the return to school of your little ones, perhaps with them!

3. Create a space for study

Your child, whether he is in his early school years or not, needs a space for study: a neat and clean space, free of distractions, in which he can concentrate and learn the art of study.
Think carefully about a space in your home that lends itself as much as possible to this important purpose!

4. Fighting Stress

This point concerns especially the little ones: for them, abandoning the summer rhythms and being close to parents and grandparents can really be a pain or in any case a strong source of emotional stress.
The tears in front of the "entrance to the school are an" almost iconographic image: it is important that you give them positive reasons for returning to school, such as seeing their school friends and their favorite teachers again.

5. Order, first of all!

It is highly recommended for the first days back to school to have made a planning of school and extracurricular activities: new calendar, entry and exit to pick up the children ... Maybe you could involve them in all this, so as to feel more involved and lest they take everything as an imposition.

6. Define new goals

Make them more active and less stressed for the return to school by setting new goals for the new school year, such as better grades in a certain subject but also sports activities: everything must be perceived as a game and at the same time something serious, so that they begin to conceive the sense of responsibility.

7. Give him attention

To make the return less traumatic, it is important that the children do not feel alone or abandoned to themselves in any way: ask them how their day went, if they need help with their homework, how they feel, how they found companions and teachers returning from vacation.
Dinner at home is a great time to have these conversations, perhaps brief, but fundamental.

8. Establish house rules

Time management is important, not only for these first days of school: it limits TV and video games so that the child does his / her assigned homework first. Once he has done his duty, he can spend his free time as he pleases.

9. Good nutrition

With the beginning of school it is good that you are interested in its nutrition, inside and outside the home.
If during the summer he was able to indulge in a few more ice cream, with the beginning of September it is important that he consume healthy and regular meals, so that school activities and study are not affected.

10. Have fun with them!

Parents don't just give obligations and impositions: play with them! The last days before returning to the classrooms must be spent doing recreational and educational activities with them.
