Cantonese rice, a great classic of Chinese cuisine

The recipe to make it is extremely simple and fast and the flavor, even if prepared at home, is very similar to that of restaurants. The ingredients are very easy to find, the only accessory you may not have at home is the classic wok.

In case you can replace it and use a simple pan, perhaps better if with the edges a little higher than the one usually used for omelettes.

Ingrediants
25ml peanut oil
150gr long grain rice rinsed in cold water to remove the starch
300ml boiling water
100g peas
2 beaten eggs
1 carrot into small cubes
100g diced cooked ham
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
salt and pepper

Preparation
Put the rice in a saucepan with a pinch of salt. Cover with the boiling water and bring back to the boil. Simmer covered for 10-15 minutes, until it has absorbed all the water. Set aside and leave to rest covered. Alternatively, if you have it, you can use an electric rice cooker.
Heat the oil in the wok until it is boiling. Add the cooked ham and eggs and continue stirring for 30 seconds. Add the peas and carrot and continue stir-frying for another 30 seconds. Finally add the rice and mix everything well. When cooked, add the soy sauce and a pinch of pepper. Serve immediately.
