Our list could only start with ivy. When we think of climbing plants, this is certainly the first species that comes to mind. Belonging to the Araliacee family, ivy, in particular the Helix species, is characterized by branchy lignified stems and ovate-rhomboid leaves whose color varies from the darkest and most intense green to a faded green, almost tending to yellowish. As a climber, this plant has few pretensions, if not a soil rich in humus to grow florid in height and spring pruning to maintain an orderly and linear structure. With regard to the exhibition, ivy grows quietly even in shady areas, so it is ideal for embellishing walls or balconies facing north. Usually, its flowering takes place starting from October and lasts throughout the autumn, generally taking on the warm colors typical of the season.

If you want to decorate your garden with an unusual and colorful climbing plant, we recommend that you fall back on the bignonia capreolata. It is an evergreen species, whose semi-persistent (or persistent in warmer areas) leaves retain their pastel green color throughout the year. But the peculiarity of this climber is the presence of beautiful flowers, whose color varies from red, to yellow, to orange and whose shape is very similar to that of a trumpet. Before adding the bignonia to your cart, make sure that the place where you want to plant it is well exposed to the sun, as this plant needs high temperatures and optimal exposure to light. On the other hand, exclude it from your wish list if you live in a cold place, where temperatures can even reach below freezing. It is not surprising that its flowering occurs in summer, more precisely between June and July. If grown in a favorable environment, the bignonia can extend in height up to 8/10 meters.

With its intoxicating scent it immediately takes us back to a carefree summer atmosphere, when the hedges and terraces are filled with its characteristic pure white flowers. We are talking about jasmine, the most fragrant species of all climbing plants. Belonging to the Oleaccee family, jasmine comes from afar, more precisely from ancient Persia (now Iran), where it was called "yasamin", and from central-eastern Asia. Today it is available in any garden shop and is quite widespread throughout Italy, where it conquers urban spaces and seaside resorts with its summer flowering, usually located between June and October. Jasmine can grow both inside a vase, and in this case it is necessary to repot it once a year, and inside the soil, preferably rich in sand, earth and peat. Excluding these two needs, this climbing plant needs little maintenance and, despite this, it can grow up to 15 meters in height. However, especially when grown in pots, be careful to avoid water stagnation, watering it only where necessary.

The jasmine plant with a vase is available on Amazon at a price of 20.60 euros. Shipping, on the other hand, is completely free.

Is your majestic terrace too empty? Does that gazebo in the garden want a touch of color? Don't worry, go gardening and plant some climbing roses. Their presence will contribute to the creation of green spaces with an idyllic and romantic charm, as well as to perfume the surrounding atmosphere. The climbing rose is a perennial shrub plant, with semi-woody stems, thorns and dark green leaves and serrated edges. Depending on the variety, these climbing plants change color and need a more or less bright exposure, while, as regards the soil, they generally prefer it fertile and calcareous, characterized by the presence of peat. If your climbing rose grows in pots, make sure that expanded clay is also present in the soil, which is useful for absorbing water stagnation. Climbing roses can withstand even the lowest temperatures and should be watered once or twice a week, preferably at the first light of the morning. If you wish to prune them, the best time is around January and February.

Majestic, elegant, imposing, in one word: magnificent. We are talking about wisteria, the king of climbing plants, originally from East Asia, namely China and Japan. Undisputed protagonist of the photographic shots that mark the arrival of spring, this ornamental shrub stands out for its extraordinary cluster flowering, the bright lilac color and the solid and resistant trunk able to mold itself according to the type of structure to which it clings . More precisely, it is a deciduous climber, rustic legume, belonging to the Fabaceae family. Its flowering occurs in the spring season, between April and May, embellishing walls, trellises and pergolas and coloring the streets of the city. Wisteria can be grown both inside a pot or on the ground, always bearing in mind its extraordinary and rapid expansion, so it can reach 30 meters, both in height and in width. This feature makes pruning necessary, to be repeated twice during the year, one during the winter season and the other during the summer. This plant needs a very fertile and soft soil and needs abundant watering. If planted in a pot, however, it should be watered about every 2-3 weeks.
