Do you also give names to your things? Here's why!

Who among us hasn't given an object a name? We filled inanimate things with names, and no, not only when we were little girls. Today our cars have a name, our orchid, the refrigerator, the lighter ... and so on. But why do we have this impulse to animate the inanimate? As we find out why, let's see how to make DIY items to decorate the room:

1. We give names to objects when they resemble a human being

Yes, we name objects that have human features. Those objects, which seem to have eyes and mouth, and therefore it seems right to make them 100% human (stereo speakers, windows in buildings, telephone booths, car headlights). 2. We name objects if there is a particular affection

The attachment to an object that we love foresees in everything and for all the baptism. Each of our school diary had a proper name, it was an inanimate thing, but we animated it almost every day. And this happens every time we establish a bond with something, we become attached to it and we feel the desire to make it ours, giving it a proper name chosen by us, as we would do with a child. It would then seem that it is more likely to give names to objects that we also talk about in public, and that is why everyday objects, such as toothbrushes, showers, brushes, pots and ladles are less subject to this trend.

3. We name objects if they fall short of our expectations

It happens that when we use something a lot, for example our car, our favorite plant, the cup of the heart and so on, we are not aware of having humanized them until they disappoint our expectations. At that moment the feeling of disappointment comes to make us turn to these objects in the first person, as if they were old friends who have abandoned us in time of need. By associating the behavior of human beings, linked to unpredictability, we humanize our things, giving them a personality.
