Business lunch? It is brought from home

In practice, we are becoming a nation of provident cooks or at least attentive buyers of canned products, given that we Italians know how to make a virtue of necessity. And so we take the lunch prepared at home to the office: 53% of the sample, in fact, regulate themselves in this way. Choice not only appreciated by the wallet (saving is the spring for 46% of the interviewees) but also to our health: when we cook, in fact, we pay attention to the variety of foods, which can only do us good (29% of sample is driven by the intention to eat in a more balanced way, while 19% by the greater choice that offers a dish prepared at home).

Therefore, the consumption of sandwiches decreases and the consumption of dishes prepared with vegetables, fish and meat increases. Canned products are among the most popular ingredients among those who dine in the office: 26% of preferences go to these products, surpassed only by pasta and rice that stand at the top of this greedy ranking, in which yoghurt and fresh fruit also appear ( 18%).
And so for these reasons, for 53% of the interviewees, the workplace also becomes the place where you have lunch, perhaps even staying at your desk - a bit sad, but so be it; 19% continue to go to bars and 16% to self-service refreshment points.
