Chicken Nuggets: What Are They Made Of?

The survey, carried out by Professor Richard de Shazo dell"University of Medicine of Mississippi (USA) has shown that the chicken nuggets that have been examined are composed of chicken only for 50%, the remaining percentage is composed of fat, blood vessels, nerves, cartilage and bone fragments.

© Thinkstock According to the researcher, the problem is not so much the fact that the products are not edible, but so much what the industry leads us to think "We are convinced that we eat chicken meat, which all doctors recommend as a source of lean protein, but in reality the fast food nuggets contain very caloric products, which contain salt and fat that are harmful to health (leaving aside the fact that they are also fried). Using a mixture that only partially contains chicken meat and continuing to call it "chicken" is absolutely nonsense. Furthermore, ingredients such as cartilage and bones are extremely difficult for our body to digest ".

Representatives of the US chicken industry responded to this study by saying that the quantities of nuggets tested are too small compared to the billions of kibble that are produced annually.
Richard de Shazo, for his part, stated that it is not his intention to make an industrial case of it, he simply wants you to pay more attention to what you ingest since not always "What tastes good is necessarily good for our body or has good nutritional qualities" and it is important to be aware of what you are eating, especially when it comes to feeding children.
