Miss Italia Curvy: the voting of the last 3 finalists has started
Also this year "the jury of Miss Italia selected 15 soft-sized girls at The Church Palace in Rome. In light of the second place obtained last year by the curvy competitor Paola Torrente, this year the expectations on girls size 44-46 are very high. It remains only to assign the last 3 places available in the final and the public from home is called to do so: the voting will start tomorrow on the website www.missitalia.it and will continue until August 20.

Miss Italia Curvy is born: in 2011 the competition opens to soft sizes
In 2011, the most dreamed of beauty pageant in Italy also opens its doors to Italians who do not fall within the standards historically adopted by Miss Italia. The question was already raised in 2008 by the television presenter Benedetta Mazza, the first to point out how the competition had to adapt to the evolution of the beauty standards that the country was experiencing. The proponent of the change, however, was the patron Patrizia Mirigliani, pushed to act from the death of French model Isabelle Caro from anorexia. These are the words with which Mirigliani gave the first welcome to the curvy competitors:
“Female beauty cannot be tied to any type of pattern or size. Too often we read of girls who suffer from feeding problems, who do not accept themselves for a few extra pounds, of young women who are victims of wrong female models ”.
The 2011 edition saw the Mediterranean Valentina Cammarota as the winner of the category, who finally overturned the axiom beautiful = thin, indeed very thin, imposed on the spectators until then. Among the beauty queens who conquered the band in the following years, we remember the protagonist of the 2016 curvy campaign, Marta Benincasa, and the speaker Vincenza Botti, who in 2015 came close to winning Miss Italia 2015.
Having overcome the criticisms leveled at the first curvy misses, today Mirigliani fights a new battle: "Our challenge today is precisely to overcome the distinction between curvy and non-curvy, and to bring all girls to be able to compete as equals".

Also this year "the president of the Miss Curvy Band Patrizia Mirigliani invited the candidates to the title to participate with enthusiasm: "Come forward in the name of a generous and explosive beauty. Once again it will be you who will write the new page in the history of Miss Italia as a contest always in step with the times".
The invitation was welcomed by hundreds of participants, including the jury, made up of Benedetta Mazzane, the curvy miss Fabiana Pastorino and the radio speaker Fabiana Sera, who selected 25: 15 were directly admitted to the Jesolo Prefinals, while the other 10 are competing on the web for the last 3 places available.

This is not the first time that you have used online voting to express your preference for a Miss. The first to be chosen with this voting method is Eleonora Mazzarini, a 19-year-old Roman elected "First Miss of the Year". Eleonora perfectly represents the ideal to which Patrizia Mirigliani was inspired when she started Miss Curvy. The "First Miss" sees her body as a "demonstration of health, well-being and femininity".
Allowing all the misses to compete on an equal footing will finally return to enhancing the typically Italian beauties "always famous for their curves, for their feminine and reassuring shapes", remembers Patrizia Mirigliani, without necessarily wanting to align with standards that do not belong to us.
"The concept of the Mediterranean woman is the most loved, the search for a curvy woman who feels comfortable with herself is an important message for that world of girls who believe they are not beautiful if they do not have a 38-40".
Last year, thanks to televoting, the Florentine Rachele Risaliti grabbed the title of Miss Italy 2016, to the detriment of the 22-year-old Paola Torrente from Salerno. But the same cannot be said for social media, of which the curvy miss was the real protagonist. From the height of her meter and eighty, Paola is proud of the size 46 that she wears with a great sensuality, supported by her long black curls and her dazzling smile, as well as by her impeccable outfits!
