Mina turns 80: the mystery of the Cremona tiger
Mina was born in Busto Arsizio on March 25, 1940 to parents from Cremona who, only three years later, returned to their hometown. From grandmother Amelia, opera singer, she takes a passion for singing (and a powerful voice).
In the years of adolescence he cultivated his musical knowledge by listening to jazz and the great voices from overseas.
At 18, on holiday in Marina di Pietrasanta (LU) she performed for the first time in public and from there began a high-speed journey towards success that made her one of the most popular artists in the world.
The 1960s
The whole decade was, for Mina, a succession of events for better and for worse. First of all, it is the years that consecrate her as an interpreter. The years of "Tintarella di Luna", "Una zebra a pois" "You burst into my heart" and many other successes that we still love and listen to gladly. But they are also the years in which Mina realizes that she is not "brought" for the life of a star. People love her but she, so lonely and reserved, doesn't like the spotlight on her private life. In 1963 Massimiliano was born, his first child had by Corrado Pani, at the time still married to another woman. The resulting media chaos causes a "huge wound in Mina's need for peace, which, in response, closes herself in the music and gives birth to the splendid" Amor Mio ", a declaration of love by a mother for her child.
After a couple of attempts in Sanremo in which she fails to reach the podium, Mina becomes the star of "Studio Uno" one of the most loved and followed programs in the history of Italian television.

Everything Mina touches becomes a hit. Now queen of Rai broadcasts, Mina announces that she is tired of the attention on herself and that she intends to leave the stage.
The announcement went rather unnoticed until the diva, on August 23, 1978, organized the last concert in Marina di Pietrasanta, on the same stage that saw the birth of this star of Italian music.
Under the guise of viral bronchopneumonia, the singer retires from the jet set and never returns. Obviously his musical production never stopped between albums and collaborations that Mina has released at a distance. From her home in Switzerland surrounded by her husband and children, her dearest loved ones.
