Interview / Elisabetta Canalis: "Love? I'm experiencing a wonderful time"

Elisabetta Canalis returned to Italy, but "for a fixed term". The showgirl is in fact here to conduct “Zelig 1” (on Italia 1), but then she will leave again for the United States. After a period of absence you are back on TV with “Zelig 1”. How did you find yourself on a stage among the comedians?
I had already participated in comic-satirical programs such as Ciro presents Visitors, Never say Tuesday or Arthur, so Zelig 1 represents for me the completion of a path. But I must admit that at the beginning, being a historical stage like that of Zelig, I was a bit worried about how things could go. But then everything went well and a good atmosphere of camaraderie was created between us, especially with Katia Follesa, who turned out to be a wonderful workmate. However, I have always loved working with comedians: I have fun with them and they make me feel a little at home.

Is it true what Gino & Michele, Zelig's “fathers” have said, or rather that they were afraid that I would react badly due to the fact that the venue in Viale Monza does not have those beautiful TV dressing rooms you are used to?
It seems so. Perhaps, not knowing me, they expected a diva attitude from me, but it is not from me. I am a real tomboy, one who loves being in company, so I have no problem even sharing the dressing room!

A tomboy? We don't believe it!
To believe it, just look at the activities and sports I prefer, such as krav maga. Instead, I am totally denied in things like dancing: the experience of Dancing with the Stars proves it!

Listen, you haven't been seen in Italy for a while. Why are you so attracted to the United States? Do you dream of making it one day in Hollywood?
None of this. I have been used since childhood, thanks to my parents, to travel a lot. There are many countries that I love, but I have always had the United States in my heart. Then, a series of circumstances brought me back and I felt like staying there.I found some work there, useful to be able to have the necessary documents and I am happy with my choice. I am perfectly at ease and c "is a lifestyle more in my strings. In Hollywood, to be honest, I don't think about it: sure, if they ever make me some nice cinematic offer I would think about it, but in reality I would like to dedicate myself to something else I have several projects in mind, for example related to the world of fashion.

Do you want to close with the entertainment world?
No, that I will continue to do here in Italy, where I have a "professional identity and above all an audience that has been following me for 12 years now.

There are those who say that you are in the United States also to escape the gossip. Is that true?
A little bit yes. And in fact, as soon as I finish with Zelig (around February), I will fly back to the other side of the ocean.

So I guess you don't want to reveal anything about your private ...
I just tell you that I'm having a good time in my life and I'm serene.

And do you think about motherhood every now and then?
Yes, one day I would like to become a mother. Who knows what fate has in store for me!
