In Denmark there is a boom in open couples

"It is not a cultural revolution like the one we saw in the 1960s, but it is a significant trend that is becoming really interesting", these are the words of Susanne Lysbye, president of the Association of Danish Sexologists, regarding a new trend that is gaining momentum in the land of the Little Mermaid.

Which one? That of open couples. No more two-person relationships, limited to a single partner, but polyamory, that is relationships that include several "participants". "It is increasingly common to meet people who are explicitly not monogamous and declare that they live or want an open relationship", continues Lysbye in an intervention in the magazine Kristeligt Dagbladet.

So is polygamy the solution to no longer suffer in love, then? No, it is not: “it requires absolute consent and clear rules”, comments the writer Sara Skaarup, “but things often go wrong”.
