Loans to furnish home: the boom

The real estate market seems to have obviously suffered from the European economic crisis, but also from recent political decisions, which would have pushed Italians not to want to invest in housing, waiting for better times.


From a "survey carried out by PrestitiSupermarket.it on a sample of 15 thousand loan requests in the first months of 2012, it was found that there was a substantial reduction in requests for financing for the purchase of a property.

There has been a boom (+ 7%) as regards the requests for loans for furniture, which in most cases do not exceed 10 thousand euros.

The attachment of Italians towards the house does not seem to collapse, but given the times they opt to keep their home as beautiful as possible, optimizing space and also investing in new technologies.

Many young people resort to this type of financing: 26% of applicants are on average 30 years old and try to make the rented house as hospitable as possible. Obviously 83% of the sample is a permanent worker, also given the difficulty of accessing financing by workers with different contractual conditions.
