Disney thinks (finally) of the first homosexual princess

Over time, Disney has had to adapt to new trends. Today we are no longer satisfied with any kind of stereotype, even if we continue to be dominated by most of them. Tired of light-skinned princesses, with blue eyes, thin and tender, dependent on their principles, the production house that made us believe in "happily ever after", had to create alternatives.
These alternatives have not only promoted diversity as a virtue, just think of Lilo and Stich, or The Princess and the Frog, but also claimed the strength and independence of women which is so difficult to transmit to our children.
Recently Disney has begun, very cautiously, to talk about homosexuality as well. Watch the video to understand how important it is, even today, to raise public awareness on the topic:

1. Elsa in Frozen

After the rumors about LeTont and Gaston of Beauty and the Beast, or about the red Merida, protagonist of Rebel-The brave, a princess who hates all the frills of a princess and who just wants to be free, ride and shoot with the bow, very strong was the controversy raised with Frozen. The protagonist of the controversy was Elsa, the princess who does not want to have the prince, for whom the hashtag #GiveElsaAGirlfriend was launched. The LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) movement has indeed launched a campaign to ensure that in the second film of the saga, soon to be released, dear Elsa finds a beautiful girlfriend to warm her up from the cold.

2. Mark and stand against the forces of evil

Disney has begun to expose itself, as we said with caution. Marco and Star against the forces of evil (broadcast on Disney XD and Disney Channel Italia), episode 39 of the second season, Just Friend: during a concert, many couples start kissing. Among these, two homosexual couples, one composed of two men and one composed of two women. Thus we begin to respond to the criticisms that see the Disney couples too traditional, which is still so tied to the classic family: mother - father - son.

3. Who will be the next princess?

The request made for years to the LGBT movement could finally find a positive response. Ron Clements and his collaborator John Musker have called it plausible that Disney will give space to a homosexual character in the future. They also said that the famous American production company could decide to explore new horizons, taking an attitude of greater openness, a need with which John Lasseter, Creative Officer of the company, agrees.
However, it is not known whether the princess who will love women will be Elsa or another: if we want to know, we can only wait and hope that an independent, courageous, strong and homosexual woman can definitively redeem all the traditional Cinderella girls.
