Protect your skin from the pitfalls of the winter season

Snow-covered landscapes, clear skies, clear and clean air: winter brings with it breathtaking and enchanted views. But if on the one hand the cold season can be wonderful and very poetic, on the other it represents a difficult period, especially for our skin that requires specific care and attention.

In particular, external factors such as lower temperatures, drier air and pollution due to the use of heating put a strain on the well-being of the skin, regardless of our age.

But that is not all! When it is colder, the metabolism of the cells also changes and the protective layer of the skin is affected, since the sebaceous glands temporarily cease their activity.

The result? A dry, chapped, red and dehydrated skin. Unless we learn to care for them regularly.

How to run for cover?

First of all, not neglecting the normal beauty routine, because to have healthy and beautiful skin - at any age - you need to cleanse and moisturize it constantly, morning and evening, using products suitable for your skin type and lifestyle. Furthermore, year after year, the skin progressively loses the essential nutrients for its vitality: it becomes thinner, dries up and loses its natural radiance.

It is therefore important to adapt one's beauty gestures to these changes as well. Finally, especially in this cold period, we must remember to always keep the skin well hydrated, repairing it from external aggressions. Here we are talking specifically about the skin of the face, but the same is also true for that of the hands, to avoid redness and annoying irritation.

Since the skin in winter to be able to defend itself from the cold needs fat, as well as a supplement of vitamins (especially B which allows it to retain moisture) and amino acids, it is advisable to use an even more nourishing, emollient and protective daily treatment.

Excellent, for example, is the new Nourishing Oil-Cream from the Extraordinary Oil range by L’Oréal Paris, a nourishing massage cream enriched with micro-pearls of essential oils that melt into the skin without leaving greasy residues. Its aromatic scent gives the skin an intense feeling of well-being.
