Heatstroke: symptoms and remedies to deal with the heat

Heatstroke is a sudden malaise that is very common in summer, when certain microclimate conditions cause the body to overheat. Heat stroke? Useful remedies to recover quickly

The immediate remedies for heatstroke are obviously trying to cool the body down quickly. In severe cases, the affected person can be immersed in a tub of cold water, or by sponging with cold water. The person affected by heatstroke should lie down in a cool and ventilated place with the legs upwards in order to facilitate the flow of blood to the brain. It is important to drink fresh water immediately, perhaps helping to drink those who have been affected. Some stress factors could also be clothes that are too tight or too heavy, so it is good to free the affected person from clothes that force. What to do to prevent heatstroke?

To prevent a similar ailment from worsening creating other problems, it is therefore good to prevent any mishaps due to the heat in time. A diet rich in vitamins and mineral salts is a good start: you need to have meals that are not too heavy, and very varied. We must then hydrate well, drinking lots of water and eating lots of fruit and vegetables, and then we must avoid making excessive efforts in hot weather. If you do sport, it is better to do it in the coolest hours, early in the morning, for example, or after sunset. As for children, it takes a little extra care: make sure they drink plenty of water, eat fruit and vegetables and avoid carbonated or caffeinated drinks, which cause dehydration. For adults, it is better not to overdo the coffee. and limit alcohol to one glass of wine in the evening.
