Why choose tampons

Internal sanitary pads are as effective as external ones but they offer you the advantage of maximum safety and discretion even when you are in a bathing suit: and then you can take a bath, is that too little? They are a valid alternative to the menstrual cup and in the summer they become truly irreplaceable! If these are the pros, it is also true that tampons also have some drawbacks: nothing dramatic, just a little attention and skill and you won't be able to do without them. Tampaxes give you the freedom to bathe even on days of your period: the tampon is safe and comfortable, you can swim, soak in the water, even relax at the backhoe! Zero contraindications in water, even in hot water, or in the hammam or sauna: you can ALWAYS use them without fear of leaks or marks.
Many women use them regularly throughout the year and not just in summer, because they feel more free to wear anything or to show themselves in underwear!

Contraindications of tampons

When it comes to tampons, the topic of intimate hygiene is even more important than usual. In fact, intimate hygiene during menstruation is always essential, but in the case of tampax, you will have to change the tampon every two or three hours, especially in the first days of the cycle. You will never have to keep the tampon without changing it for more than six hours because vaginal irritations and infections are really just around the corner. The moment of the change is particularly delicate because the hands are in contact with the genitals: you will need to wash your hands thoroughly both before and after inserting the tampon and make sure to carry out the operation in a quiet and clean place.

6 things you should never do if you use tampons

1. Never remove the swab from the package before using it. The tampon comes into contact with delicate areas of your body and if it gets dirty it can cause serious infections.
2. Insert it shallowly. The tampon is inserted correctly when you don't feel it at all (zero hassle). If you do not insert it deeply you will feel it inside the vagina, it will be very uncomfortable and will not ensure the same absorbency.
3. Do not change it after taking a bath. The internal absorbent must be changed after each dip in the sea because it also incorporates chlorine or salt water and can cause vaginal burning or cystitis.
4. Don't change it after peeing. There is no real indication on this subject but wearing a wet drawstring tampax that will wet your briefs is not really the best.
5. Use it when the cycle is finished. For sure you have heard of Toxic Shock Syndrome, a very rare but potentially deadly disease, not to be underestimated!
6. Throw away any tampons that you find in a bag after a long time. The tampons do not expire and if the package is intact it means that the applicator is clean: you can use them in complete safety!

Tips for the undecided (yet?)

With the tampon you can take a bath: in some cases, it depends on how you move and your physical conformation, the tampon can get wet but absolutely nothing happens and menstrual blood does not come out at all. You can wear the tampon with any type of costume, even a thong: no one will notice that you are menstruating. Getting dirty is really unlikely, and if you change your sanitary napkin after a bath, you really minimize this possibility. The tampon is not felt at all, forget the feeling of the sticky tampons while you try to sunbathe without anyone noticing that you have your period! If you are a beginner with tampons, choose a black swimsuit, it will make you feel safer and less in everyone's eyes. Don't forget to bring enough spare pads (even in case of insertion error), always choose the right degree of absorbency, small pads when flow is low, larger pads if flow is abundant. Avoid wild and unspoiled beaches (in those days you need a public toilet) and always carry sanitizing wipes with you, because the cleanliness of the public bathroom you will find may be very poor and you must be ready for anything. But above all to enjoy the summer in freedom!
