Jackie O turns 90

To celebrate the 90th anniversary of Gucci's iconic bag, which took the name of the former First Lady (Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis) of the United States photographed several times with this on her arm bag, the Florentine maison has decided to dedicate an exhibition to her in the refined mono-brand boutique in Forte dei Marmi. The event traces the history and evolution of the it-bag from the vintage model to today thanks to a series of photographs taken from the Gucci historical archive.

The celebratory exhibition will begin today, July 28, in the shop in via Spinetti 41 in Forte dei Marmi and will remain open to the public until Sunday 31 July. For fans of the Gucci logo, on Fridays and Saturdays, a Florentine master craftsman will personalize the Gucci leather goods purchased at the moment or already owned by customers.

The Jackie Special Display exhibition will then move from "Italy to" Europe, touching the cities of Monte Carlo and Zurich.

The maison also has another project underway to celebrate the Jackie O model: starting this month in all flagship store the 1921 collection is available, a special line of accessories and clothing that represent the different stages of the brand.

The capsule collection will be available under the name G. GUCCI FIRENZE 1921 and will reinterpret Gucci's iconic products, such as the New Bamboo, New Jackie and Horsebit Chain bags, revisited in calfskin or crocodile leather in five different shades.
